Applesauce Jam Cake
1 1/2 cup of sugar 1/2 cup of butter 1 1/2 cups of applesauce
2 eggs 3 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of soda 1 cup of jam or raisins 2 teaspoons of cinnamon 2 teaspoons of allspice
1 cup of nuts
Bake at 350ºF. for 1 1/2 hours. Bake in tube pan. Frost with Brown Sugar Icing. |

BROWN SUGAR ICING:
1/2 cup of butter, melted 1 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of milk 2 cups of confectioners' sugar
Add brown sugar to melted butter and boil over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and stir until it comes to a boil. Cool to lukewarm. Then add confectioners' sugar. Beat until ready to spread. Applesauce Jam Cake
1 cup of butter or margarine 2 cups of sugar 4 eggs, beaten 4 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of soda
2 teaspoons of cinnamon 2 teaspoons of nutmeg 2 cups of applesauce 2 cups of jam
Cream butter, sugar, and add beaten eggs; mix well. Add jam and applesauce. Sift all dry ingredients together; mix all together and bake in a greased tube pan with pan of water underneath on second rack for 1 1/2 hours at 350ºF.
