Buttermilk Cake
2 sticks of butter 3 cups of sugar 4 eggs 1/4 teaspoon of soda 1 cup of buttermilk 3 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of vanilla 1/2 teaspoon of almond, optional |

Grease Bundt pan with butter. Shake in sugar to thoroughly coat pan. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until very light. Add flavoring, then flour, soda and buttermilk. Mix well, but don't overbeat after flour is added. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 325ºF. approximately 1 hour. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Then turn out on rack.
